EVANSTON, Ill. - Penn State Women’s Tennis (13-7, 4-6 B1G) dropped a 4-0 decision against Northwestern (11-11, 4-6 B1G) on Sunday afternoon.
Northwestern grabbed the doubles point. On court three, Kate Zink and Maria Daciana Ciubotaru fell to Kiley Rabjohns and Erica Jessel, 6-2. On court one, Jordina Cegarra and Patricia Grigoras dropped a 6-4 decision to Britany Lau and Mika Dagan Fruchtman.
Olivia Dorner and Maiko Uchijima trailed 5-2 when their match against Sydney Pratt and Neena Feldman went unfinished at the two spot.
The Wildcats took the match with three straight singles victories. On court six, Zink fell to Autumn Rabjohns, 6-0, 6-0. Uchijima came up short to No. 99 Pratt, 6-1, 6-3, on court three. To conclude the match, Grigoras dropped to Lau, 7-5, 6-0, on court two.
Dorner took the first set, 6-4, against No. 122 Jessel on court one before their match was stopped. Ciubotaru held a 7-5, 2-1 lead over Kiley Rabjohns on court five when the match went unfinished. On court four, Cegarra trailed Feldman 7-5, 3-2 when the dual finished.
The Nittany Lions travel to Columbus, Ohio for a matchup with Ohio State on Saturday, April 12 at noon.
