Fink, Gadowsky Named to U.S. Collegiate Select Team for the 2025 Spengler Cup

As returning All-Americans, juniors Aiden Fink and Mac Gadowsky were named as two of the initial five players invited to the U.S. Collegiate Select Team for the 2025 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland in December.

DAVOS, Switzerland – Penn State junior classmates Aiden Fink (Calgary, Alberta) and Mac Gadowsky (State College, Pa.) were announced as part of the first five players selected for the United States Collegiate Select Team ahead of the 2025 Spengler Cup as announced by College Hockey Inc. earlier Thursday morning.

Along with Fink and Gadowsky, UConn forward Joey Muldowney, North Dakota defenseman Jake Livanavage and Minnesota State goaltender Alex Tracy were also selected. Each of the first-five named today are returning AHCA/CCM All-Americans and represent four of the six NCAA men’s ice hockey conferences.

All returning First and Second Team AHCA/CCM All-Americans received an automatic invitation to the roster. Additional players will be announced in the coming weeks.

It was announced back in August that Nittany Lion Bench Boss Guy Gadowsky will serve as the USCS Head Coach this winter in Davos.

For the first time in the 102-year history of the tournament, which dates back to 1923 making it the oldest invitational ice hockey tournament in the world, a team of top NCAA collegiate players will compete, led by Gadowsky.

Fink became Penn State’s first-ever Hobey Baker Top-10 Finalist last season while also earning second-team All-American honors, the third Nittany Lion to earn such accolades. He was also the only unanimous All-Big Ten selection in the league becoming the seventh Nittany Lion first-team honoree all-time and the first since 2020.

Fink set new Penn State single-season records across the board last season with 23 goals and 30 assists for 53 points, a mark that topped the Big Ten and ranked fourth in the nation.

Following a four-point weekend against ASU, the Calgary, Alberta native has 91 points on 39 goals and 52 assists in 76 career games played as he looks to become the fastest Nittany Lion to 100 career points all-time, currently held by Alex Limoges who reached that milestone in his 102nd career game.

The junior’s 1.20 points per game pace for his career is the top mark in Penn State history while his 17 career powerplay tallies are also the program standard.

Gadowsky, the son of head coach Guy Gadowsky, transferred from Army West Point this offseason following a career year with the Black Knights which saw him lead all defensemen in the nation with 16 goals while adding 26 assists for 42 points. He was named a First-Team All-American and a Hobey Baker Top-10 Finalist along with numerous conference accolades.

Gadowsky enters the 2025-26 season second in the nation among active defensemen in points (65) and third in goals (20) while his assist (45) total ranks eighth.
