Women’s Tennis Travels To Princeton For ITA Northeast Regional Championships

The full 10-player roster will compete on Princeton University’s campus from October 15-20

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis team is set to compete in the ITA Northeast Regional Championships in Princeton, N.J. from Thursday, October 15 to Tuesday, October 20. All 10 members of the team will compete in the tournament.

Jordina Cegarra Ramirez, Katerina Dimitrova, Brianna Baldi, Ansley Cox and Susan Souhrada will begin play Thursday in the singles qualifying round. Charlotte Benedetti Ravon, Maria Daciana Ciubotaru, Patricia Grigoras and Maelie Monfils will begin play Friday in the main singles draw. Kate Zink will also begin play Friday, competing exclusively in doubles.

Eight of the Nittany Lions have already seen action this season, with Cox and Ciubotaru the only two yet to compete.

Cox, a sophomore who posted a 10-3 doubles record last season, will pair with Dimitrova in doubles. Dimitrova enters the tournament after earning two singles victories at the Martha Thorn Invitational.

Cegarra Ramirez will team up with Benedetti Ravon after the duo earned two doubles victories at the Martha Thorn Invitational. Benedetti Ravon also recorded two singles wins in Morgantown. Cegarra Ramirez will look to build on a strong 2025-26 campaign, during which she posted a 13-7 doubles record.

After earning her first collegiate victory at the Martha Thorn Invitational, Souhrada will partner with Ciubotaru for their first match as a doubles pair. Ciubotaru will make her season debut after a strong sophomore campaign that included a 14-9 singles record.

Baldi and Zink will pair up again in Princeton after competing in two doubles matches together at the Martha Thorn Invitational. Baldi looks to build on her 11 doubles wins, while Zink enters the tournament with four.

Monfils and Grigoras will team up again after their first action as doubles partners at the ITA All-American Championships in September. Both players earned a singles victory at the event, while adding a doubles win together. Monfils will look to add to her 44 doubles victories, while Grigoras aims to build on her total of 31.

The Nittany Lions will look to replicate their success they had in last year’s regionals, in which they earned two top-three finishes.
