No. 8 Illinois (4/25): Pitched a season-high five innings in 15-inning loss to eventual Big Ten Champions … Entered game at the start of the eighth inning and left after the 12th, facing a career-high 22 batters … Allowed one run on four hits and four walks (two intentional) with one strikeout. Awards: Academic All-Big Ten. Season: Made the most appearances of any pitcher on the staff in 2014 with 26 ... Came out of the bullpen and tallied 42 innings pitched ... Led the squad with four wins and five saves ... Didn't allow a home run ... Began the season without giving up an earned run in four straight appearances (at Gardner-Webb twice, at USF and vs. Hofstra) spanning six innings pitched. At Gardner-Webb (2/16-17): Earned the win in each of his first two outings. At USF (2/23): Struck out two in two innings, not allowing a run. At Saint Mary's (3/29): Threw a career-high 5 2/3 innings, fanning a personal-best six batters and allowing just two hits, while also notching the win. Northwestern (3/29) – at Ohio State (4/11): Went five-straight games without giving up a run starting with the Big Ten opener, striking out five and allowing just one hit in three innings against the Buckeyes (4/11).
2013 (FRESHMAN)
Season: Made 14 appearances out of the bullpen in his rookie season ... Totaled 14 2/3 innings pitched ... Recorded two saves on the year … Began the season with a streak of five appearances, spanning six innings, without allowing an earned run. East Tennessee State (2/17): Appeared in his first game as a Nittany Lion, tossing 1 1/3 innings of perfect baseball. At Liberty (2/23): Pitched 1 2/3 innings, surrendering just one hit and no runs ... Stephen F. Austin (3/1): Posted the first save of his Penn State career, recording 1 2/3 innings of work out of the bullpen, while holding opposing hitters to no runs or hits in the 4-2 win over. Nebraska-Omaha (3/3): Saved his second game in as many chances, coming in to get the final out in a 3-0 victory. At Temple (3/17): Allowed no runs and one hit and added a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. Wright State (4/6): Gave up just one hit in relief in an inning of work. Minnesota (5/3): Struck out a batter and allowed one hit in one inning.
