AS A JUNIOR IN 2017-18: Cole saw plenty of action in his third season at Penn State. He finished the season with a 38-35 record which included three 3-0 victories. Cole’s record allowed him to compete in the Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2016-17: Cole had a strong second season as a Nittany Lion. He ended the season with a 39-25 which included five shutout performances. Cole went on to compete at the Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals where he placed seventh qualifying him for NCAA Championships.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2015-16: Cole saw plenty of action his first season. Cole competed in every match except two ending the season with a 33-32 record. Cole went on to compete at the Mid-Atlantic/ Southern Regionals where he placed 13th.
HIGH SCHOOL/ PERSONAL: Joshua Cole from Chappaqua, N.Y., is no stranger to competition, having fenced previously for the Fencing Academy of Westchester in Mount Kisco, N.Y. under head coach Alex Zurabishvili. During his time as the Academy, Cole placed 3rd at the Kentucky-North American Cup and in the Top-16 in cadet and Top-32 in Juniors in the Junior Olympics. Cole was also a member of two United States World Teams, once for Juniors and once for Cadets. He is looking forward to competing at Penn State so he can be apart of the top athletic program in the country.
