Lion Career
2007: A first team All-American by both NFHCA and womensfieldhockey.com....Was a finalist for the field hockey Honda Award....Named to the NCAA All-Tournament team....Named first team NFHCA All-Mideast Region for the second straight year....Named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the seventh Penn State player to garner that award, the most of any Big Ten school since 1992....Also named first team All-Big Ten, her second time as an All-Big Ten selection but her first time on the first team....Academic All-Big Ten pick for the second straight year and was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad for the third straight year....Played in every game of her college career and had started her first 63 before not starting the NCAA first round game vs. Virginia with a sore hamstring but came off the bench to start the second half and helped rally the Nittany Lions to the come-from-behind win....Played every minute of every game except for three....Part of a defense that recorded a Big Ten-leading nine shutouts and that had a 1.26 goals against average, which ranked 13th in the country and second in the Big Ten....Has also slid up to the midfield a few times this year and taken on more an attacking role....Recorded points in 11 of 24 games this year....Led the team and co-led the Big Ten in assists with 12 and also tied for fourth in the league in assists per game (0.50)....Also tied for 24th in the country in assists per game....Tied for the lead in the Big Ten in assists (3) and assists per game (0.50) in conference games....Became the first Penn State player since Timarie Legel in 2003 to record at least 10 assists in a season....Recorded two defensive saves on the year, which was tied for second in the Big Ten....Was one of three different Penn State players to be named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week as she earned the award on October 8 after helping Penn State blank Indiana 2-0 and blocking two penalty corners in that game....Also was named to the womensfieldhockey.com weekly honor roll twice, on 8-27 and 10-9....Also was named the womensfieldhockey.com Player of the Week on 11-13....Was named as one of CSTV[apos]s preseason top players in the country....Had a streak of five straight games with an assist from 9-26 to 10-10....Set new career highs for goals (1), assists (12), and shots on goal (3) and more than doubled her career points total with 14 points on the year....Trained with the U.S. National Team in California during the spring.
Game-by-Game: Assisted on the first Penn State goal of the year by Mallory Weisen in the win at Old Dominion (8-25)....Followed that up by assisting on both of Kiersten Wood[apos]s goals, one the game-tying and one the game-winning goal at Virginia (8-26)....Made a defensive save in the game vs. James Madison (9-7)....Assisted on Weisen[apos]s first of two goals in the win over Temple (9-12)....Assisted on another Weisen goal, this one a game-winner and also took her first shot of the year vs. Lock Haven (9-26)....Had her second multi-assist game of the year vs. Northwestern (9-30), helping out on both Kiersten Wood[apos]s and Natalie Blasco[apos]s goals....Assisted on Weisen[apos]s game-winning goal vs. Syracuse (10-3)....Assisted on Weisen[apos]s game-winner at Indiana (10-7)....Helped out on Kiersten Wood[apos]s lone goal of the game and also took her second shot of the year in the win at Lafayette (10-10)....Took two shots and scored her first career goal in her 60th career game in the win at Bucknell (10-23).....Came off the bench for the first time in her career and assisted on Mallory Weisen[apos]s eventual game-winning goal vs. Virginia (11-10) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament....Assisted on Mallory Weisen[apos]s game-winning goal against Wake Forest in the national semifinal (11-16).
2006: Named All-Big Ten second team....A first team NFHCA All-Mideast Region selection and a second team NFHCA All-American....Was one of five players on the team to start every game....Has started every game of her college career....Part of the defense that led the Big Ten in goals against average (1.12), shutouts (8) and goals allowed per game (1.14) and that finished second in fewest goals allowed (25)....Defense also ranked fifth nationally in goals against average and ninth in shutouts per game (0.36)....Named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on 10-16 after helping contribute on defense to Penn State[apos]s upset win over North Carolina (10-13) and was also named to the womensfieldhockey.com weekly honor roll for that same week....Tied for first on the team in assists with eight as she set a career high for both assists and points after having just three career assists and points entering the year....Tied for ninth in the Big Ten in assists....Her eight assists came in eight different games, including a stretch that included five assists in a seven-game span from 9-20 through 10-13....Team went 7-1 in games in which she recorded an assist....Named to the Academic All-Big Ten team and to the NFHCA National Academic Squad....Was a member of the U.S. National Under-21 field hockey team for the second straight year.

2005: Only freshman to start every game....Spent most of her playing time at sweeper where she helped the PSU defense rank among Big Ten leaders in nearly every statistical defensive category....Tallied first career assist vs. Connecticut (9-4)....Recorded an assist at Lafayette (9-16)....Registered one assist against West Chester (9-18).

'Jen continues to take her game to a higher level. She is so passionate about field hockey and her role on the team. She really provides stability for us in the defensive end and is a significant contributor to our offensive corner play. She is someone you will notice who is very involved throughout the game. As one of our elected captains, Jen will be a significant leader and role model for this young team.'
