Jared Jarvi joined the Penn State Athletic Performance staff in 2022. He is currently responsible for the design and implementation of training for the Baseball and Field Hockey teams.
Prior to joining the Penn State staff, Jarvi served as an Olympic Strength & Conditioning Fellow (2020) at the University of Michigan where he assisted in the development of all athletes within Michigan Olympic Sports, including Baseball, Men’s & Women’s Soccer, Men’s Lacrosse, Field Hockey, and Track & Field. Prior to working at Michigan, he served as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Northern Michigan University (2017), where he worked with Men’s & Women’s Soccer, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Basketball, Men’s & Women’s Nordic Ski, and Men’s & Women’s Golf.
Jarvi graduated from Northern Michigan University with a major in Sport & Exercise Science. He also earned his master’s degree from the University of Michigan in Movement Science.
The Chassell, Michigan native is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS) and Weightlifting Coach (USAW). He resides in State College with his wife, Emily, dog, Layla, and cat, Arnold.
