Senior All-American Jeffrey Chang heads into his final season with the men[apos]s fencing squad look to repeat, and improve upon, his eighth place, All-American showing last year. One of Penn State[apos]s most experienced fencers, Chang will be counted on to lead both on and off the strips this year.
Lion Career: 2006-07: Chang posted a 46-13 overall mark in duals. He upped his career record to 85-32 heading into his senior year. Chang finished third at Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals and earned a trip to nationals. He then placed eighth at the NCAA Championships, becoming an All-American for the first time. Chang posted dual match records of 11-4, 6-8, 14-2 and 15-0. Chang was also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree for the second straight year.
2005-06: Chang posted a 25-10 dual match record and took second place at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional championship. He qualified for nationals and placed 16th. He went 8-3, 9-4 and 8-3 in Penn State[apos]s duals in 2006-06. He was an Academic All-Big Ten selection and was Penn State[apos]s men[apos]s fencing recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
2004-05: Chang went 14-9 in dual match action. He placed seventh at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals and was 11th at nationals, earning Honorable Mention.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Chang is a native of Homontin, Hong Kong, but went to school in California. An outstanding student, Chang was a Principal[apos]s Recognition Roll achiever at Arcadia High School in California.
