Senior Arthur Urman will serve as men[apos]s team captain for the second straight year. A two-time All-American after his sixth place finish in 2007, Urman will make a push to claim his first national title in 2008. A freshman All-American for Penn State in 2005, Urman qualified for nationals in 2006 as well and earned honorable mention status. The first to arrive to practice and the last to leave, Urman has an unmatched love of the sport, not of himself in the sport.
Lion Career: 2006-07: Urman went 34-14 in duals and drove through to a sixth-place finish at nationals to earn his second All-America medal. Urman placed third at Mid-Atlantic regionals as well. He posted dual match records of 8-6, 11-3, 10-2 and 5-3. Urman earned his second Academic All-Big Ten honor as well.
2005-06: Looking to repeat as an All-American, Urman managed Honorable Mention status after an 11th-place finish at nationals. The talented epee specialist went 33-8 in duals in 2005-06 and claimed the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional title as well. He posted dual match date records of 8-5, 11-2 and 14-1, improving each time out. An outstanding student, Urman was also a member of the Academic All-Big Ten team.
2004-05: Urman posted an impressive 34-8 mark as a freshman. His .810 winning percentage helped lead to a trip to nationals and an eighth place finish at the national event, earning All-America honors in his first season.
HIGH SCHOOL/ PERSONAL: Urman won the Israeli national junior championship in both 1999 and 2000. In 1998, he helped guide ORT (his high school in Maalot, Israel) to a national title.
