Senior Matthew Shimizu returns to the Nittany Lion roster after sitting out last season. The California native will look to compete in the foil this year.

2005-06: Shimizu did not see any dual match action as a freshman but his impact is felt by all due to his positive attitude and enjoyment of the sport.
High School/Personal: Shimizu was a cross country and track stand-out in high school and was a National Honors Society student as well. He is the son of Robert and Kathleen Shimizu and has two brothers (Chris and Ryan) and one sister (Sarah). Shimizu is a business administration major at Penn State.
