2012 Mexico Olympian
LION CAREER:
2012-13: Gomez-Tanamachi started his senior year after coming home from the London Olympics, in which he had a spot on the Mexico Men[apos]s Foil Team. He had another outstanding collegiate year, and finished the regular season with a record of 26-8. The senior had 3-0 performances against Drew, Haverford, and Ohio State. He also placed 2nd in the Garret Open.
2011-12: Gomez-Tanamachi enjoyed a stellar junior campaign. He went 24-8 and placed 1st at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional to qualify for the National Championships. He defeated 13 opponents to claim 10th in the nation and be named an Honorable Mention All-American. Gomez-Tanamachi had a trio of 3-0 performances, coming against NYU, Princeton(12/3), and Penn, recpectively. He also went 2-1 against Harvard(twice), St. John[apos]s, Columbia, Notre Dame, and Princeton(2/12), as well as 2-0 against Temple. He placed 6th at Penn State[apos]s Garret Open. After the season, Gomez-Tanamachi claimed a spot on the Mexico Men[apos]s Foil Team for the 2012 Olympics in London.
2010-11: In his second season with the Nittany Lions, the sophomore went 44-10 in the regular season.
2009-10: Daniel made his debut with the Nittany Lions going 26-11.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Gomez-Tanamachi hails from Mexico City where he attended the Eton School. As a juniors player, he was a member of the Mexican Cadet, Junior and Senior National Teams since 2007 and placed 11th at the World Junior Championships.
