2024 • SENIOR SEASON
Awards: Landed Academic All-Big Ten recognition in the postseason… Picked up Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors… Earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District awards for the second year in a row.
Season: Established multiple career highs in her final season at PSU, including games played (55), at-bats (175), runs scored (23), hits (52), total bases (69), doubles (nine) triples (four), walks drawn (six) and stolen bases (two)… Additionally contributed 10 runs batted in… Finished with a .297 batting average for the season paired with a .330 on-base percentage and a .394 slugging percentage… Registered 40 putouts and 104 assists defensively, booking a 0.923 fielding percentage.
Rankings: Ranked as the toughest player to strike out in the Big Ten Conference and the 20th-most difficult player to strike out in the nation, averaging 29.2 at-bats between K’s… Placed tied for seventh in the Big Ten Conference in triples per game with 0.07.
vs. Arkansas (2/10): Was crucial in Penn State’s first ranked win since 2022 over the Razorbacks, going 2-for-4 at the dish highlighted by the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. vs. Coastal Carolina (2/16): Tallied a season high-tying three hits in addition to a season-high trio of RBI… Logged a single, double and triple for her three knocks, adding a run scored. Texas State (3/8): Went 1-for-2 at the plate offensively while contributing a season-high trio of putouts at third base. Lehigh (3/14): Went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored as well as a stolen base. Indiana (3/23): Mustered her first multi-hit outing in Big Ten play with a 2-for-3 showing as well as a pair of runs scored. Bucknell (3/26): Was a flawless 3-for-3 with three runs scored in the dominant win over the Bison. Michigan (4/28): Had a pair of hits with an RBI against the Wolverines. NCAA Regional vs. Texas State (5/18): Closed her collegiate career with a multi-hit performance against the Bobcats, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate.
2023 • JUNIOR SEASON
Awards: Became the first PSU position player to earn First Team All-Big Ten accolades since 2017… NFCA All-Great Lakes Region First Team… CSC Academic All-District… Big Ten Distinguished Scholar… Academic All-Big Ten…Easton/NFCA Scholar Athlete.
Season: Recorded the most appearances (38) and starts (30) in her collegiate career…Led Penn State’s roster in batting average (.439) and on base percentage (.491)…Recorded career highs in batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage (.500), runs scored (11), hits (43), at-bats (98), RBI (14), doubles (three) and walks drawn (three)…Drew seven hit-by-pitches…Booked a .944 fielding percentage defensively…Mustered the second-best single-season batting average in Penn State history…Tied with teammate Cassie Lindmark through her junior season for the best career batting average at PSU with a .374 mark…Built a career-long and team leading nine-game hitting streak beginning against Pittsburgh on March 21 and concluding at Northwestern on April 9.

vs. Cleveland State (2/17): Tallied her first hit and run scored of the year with a 1-for-2 effort at the plate. at North Florida (2/17): Added another 1-for-2 showing with a run scored. vs. FGCU (3/9): Went 1-for-1 in a pinch-hitting appearance, logging an RBI. Pittsburgh (3/21): Went 2-for-3 overall with a walkoff RBI single in the extra-inning victory…Sparked a nine-game hitting streak. Iowa (3/26): Went a combined 5-for-8 in the doubleheader…Notched her first extra-base hit with a double in game one…Added a career-high three RBI in game two. at Minnesota (4/2): Led PSU to an upset road victory over the Golden Gophers with a 3-for-4 performance at the dish. at Northwestern (4/8): Smashed her first collegiate home run. Ohio State (4/11): Went 3-for-4 in the box and tallied an RBI in addition to a run scored. Rutgers (4/14): Was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the first game of the Friday doubleheader. Rutgers (4/16): Mustered a 2-for-3 outing with two RBI and a run scored…Added a double in the game, her third of the year. at Maryland (4/21): Was a flawless 3-for-3 at the plate and added a sacrifice bunt. Illinois (4/29): Tallied a trio of hits in four at-bats…Drove in one RBI. at Purdue (5/5): Carried PSU to a series-opening win over the Boilermakers with a 3-for-3 performance…Scored one run and drove in an additional RBI…Played a flawless defensive game with a season-high four putouts and two assists. Big Ten Tournament vs. Michigan (5/10): Was 1-for-3 in Penn State’s first postseason victory over the Wolverines…Added a season-high tying two assists in the field.
2022 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Awards: Picked up Easton/NFCA Scholar Athlete recognition.
Season: Made 19 appearances… Logged a career-high .222 batting average and finished with four hits.
vs. FIU (2/20): Had a hit and scored. vs. Rider (3/18): Hit and scored in a 2-0 victory. at Pittsburgh (3/16): Had one hit. vs. UMass Lowell (3/19): Recorded one hit.
2021 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Awards: Named an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete.
Season: Made 13 appearances with six starts at second base... Had two hits and one RBI... Scored one run.
vs. Northwestern (2/28): Made collegiate debut as pinch runner in game one of doubleheader... Had first-career at-bat as pinch hitter in game two. vs. Iowa (3/11): Made first career start at second base in game two of doubleheader... Recorded first career hit, RBI, and run scored... Hit sacrifice fly in 12th inning to keep the game alive for the Nittany Lions. Ohio State (4/3): Recorded pinch-hit single in fifth inning, leading to a run scored.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was a two-sport letterwinner in both softball and basketball at Kutztown Area High School in Kutztown, Pennsylvania… Helped lead the Cougars to both a division championship and district championship in the 2019 season… Earned First-Team All-County honors in three-straight seasons from 2017 to 2019… Named a First-Team All-State selection as a freshman in 2017 and as a junior in 2019… Selected to the 2019 Carpenter Cup Team… Won four letters in girls’ basketball during her high school career… Picked up the No. 52 national ranking as a recruit according to FloSoftball as well as landing the No. 58 national ranking according to Extra Innings Softball… Did not participate in the spring 2020 season due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
PERSONAL
Born in the summer of 2002, Emily Maddock is the only daughter of Ed and Tracy Maddock... Her mother, Tracy, was a member of the field hockey program at Bloomsburg University during her collegiate career... Both her father, Ed, and her uncle, Brad Barndt, attended Penn State University... Expects to graduate in the spring of 2024 from the Penn State Smeal College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in marketing... In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends in addition to being an avid fan of Taylor Swift.
