2024 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Season: Made her debut as a collegiate athlete at Penn State and played in 38 contests with 34 starts… Booked 17 hits in 77 at-bats with 15 runs scored in her inaugural campaign… Combined for three extra-base hits, including two doubles and a homer… Finished the season with six RBI and eight walks with a hit-by-pitch and two stolen bases also included… Hit for a .221 average with a .302 OBP and .286 slugging percentage… Was an effective defender in the middle infield positions, fielding at a .947 rate with 53 putouts and 55 assists.
vs. Arkansas (2/10): Made her collegiate debut as a pinch hitter. vs. Morgan State (2/24): Recorded her first collegiate hit in the second game of the night against the Bears. vs. Penn (2/25): Broke out for a multi-hit effort, finishing 2-for-4 with a season high-tying pair of runs scored. vs. Northwestern State (3/3): Put in a season-best effort in the field with seven putouts. vs. Tarleton (3/3): Went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI double, marking her season high in runs batted in… Added a run scored in the game. Binghamton (3/17): Was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. at Wisconsin (4/20): Hit her first collegiate home run. at Wisconsin (4/21): Was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the series-clinching win. Saint Francis (4/23): Had a run scored offensively with a season-best five assists in the field.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played high school softball at Centennial High School in Corona, California, serving primarily as the team’s starting shortstop... While at Centennial, she helped guide her squad to the CIF-SS semifinals and STU Penter Tournament Championships... In 2023, she was named the Centennial High School Female Athlete of the Year and brough home Big VIII All-Conference accolades... Was a centerpiece in multiple national championship travel ball organizations, highlighted by the Corona Angels under the direction of coaches Kimbo Howard and Darnell Westbrook... Finished third at both the PGF and TCS Nationals in the 2016 season... Brought home a Colorado Junior Sparkler Championship in 2017... Won the Colorado IDT Championship in 2018 with Corona Angels... Won the Oklahoma Top Gun National Championship in 2020, and booked a pair of third-place finishes at the Alliance Nationals and Triple Crown Nationals in 2022.
PERSONAL
Born in the winter of 2005 in Burbank, California, Jiselle Hernandez is the daughter of Jasmine and Jose Hernandez... She has three siblings, named Jayleen, Jiannavi and Josiah who are all her junior... While at Centennial High School, she made a trio of appearances on the Dean’s List and graduated with high honors... Is currently majoring in Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State and expects to graduate in the spring of 2027... She hopes to use her degree to begin a career in business entrepreneurship... In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, going to the beach, rollerskating and going on crazy adventures.
