2008: Started in all 56 games for the Nittany Lions recording a .356 batting average...led the team in runs (30), hits (58), doubles (13) and stolen bases (9)... scored two runs in as many games at the Pirate Classic (2/23-24)... named to the Easton Purple and Gold All-Tournament Team... hit her first home run of the season against LSU when she collected two hits and two RBIs in three at bats (3/1)... recorded a season high five hits in five at-bats against Liberty (3/15)... registered a career high six at-bats against Ohio State (4/20)... named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team... earned the team Offensive MVP Award... named to the Academic All-Big Ten team.
2007: Started every game in center field for Penn State... led the team in batting average (.384) and first in hits (56)... hit a two RBI double and a single in win over East Carolina (2/11)... went a perfect 5-for-5 in win at North Carolina to set a school record for hits in a game (2/11)... had three hits and four RBI, including her first homerun of the season, in close loss to UNLV (2/23)... had a five game hitting streak halted against Colorado State (3/10)... had four RBI on three hits and scored two runs in win over BYU (3/10)... hit a two-RBI single and the game winning sacrifice fly in upset win over No. 8 Texas (3/16)... belted a homer in close loss to No. 17 Louisiana-Lafayette (3/17)... went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in victory over No. 9 Michigan... cracked a two-RBI double in win over St. Francis (3/28)... went 2-for-2 with a double in 8-3 win over Wisconsin (3/31)... hit her 12th double of the season in 3-0 win over Kent State (4/11)... went 2-for-2 with a double in 6-5 upset win over No. 7 Northwestern (4/15)... had three hits, including a double, in game one against Illinois (4/22)... tallied two hits and two runs in game two against Illini (4/22)... recorded a two-RBI double against Bucknell (4/24)... notched three RBI in 6-0 win over Maryland, a two-run homer and an RBI double (5/2)... hit her 18th double of the season, tying teammate Jen Acunto[apos]s single season doubles record, in Big Ten Tournament against Ohio State (5/10).
2006: Selected second team All-Big Ten after leading the Lions[apos] offense with a .354 average in Big Ten action... also earned Big Ten All-Freshman team honors... batted .295 for the season with three homeruns and four doubles... Kinley had a team-high 11 RBIs in conference play, smacking two homeruns and a double... her 23 RBIs tied for third on the team... had four multiple-RBI games and talllied three game-winning RBIs, including a grandslam vs. UNLV (3/10) in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Lions to a 5-2 victory... her three-run homerun at Wisconsin (4/29), also in the bottom of the seventh inning, gave Penn State a 3-1 victory... her last game-winning RBI came vs. Ohio State (5/6) in the bottom of the third inning on a single... had seven multiple hit games, with two hits each: vs. Detroit Mercy (3/7), vs. Bucknell (4/11), vs. Minnesota (4/14-15), vs. Michigan (4/23), at Kent State (4/26)... went 4-for-7 (.571) with three RBIs and a homerun in the Minnesota series (4/14-15)... went 3-for-7 in the Kent State doubleheader (4/26) with two RBIs, a double, a walk and a run scored... batted 3-for-6 with an RBI vs. Michigan (4/23) in the conference doubleheader match-up... had two sacrifice flies on the season, one vs. UNLV (3/10) and one at Akron (4/19)... her longest hit streak, seven games, stretch from April 19-26 and after going hitless for one game on April 28, ripped off another six-game hit-streak... walked 13 times (third on the team) and stole two bases, one each at Arkansas (2/24) and and at Kent State (4/26, game 1)... in 122 at-bats, struck out only 16 times.
High School: Earned first team all-league her sophomore, junior and senior years... made first team all-CIF junior and senior year, previously making the second team her sophomore year... won scholar athlete and player of the year awards her senior year... team captain senior year... both her high school team and her club team, the Orange County Batbusters, won 2003 championships; her high school team won the CIF championship and her club team won the 18 Gold Championship... earned four varsity letters in softball.
Personal: The daughter of Richard and Kathryn Kinley, her full name is Danielle Marie Kinley... majoring in film with hopes of making social and wildlife documentaries... has an older brother David (23)... born on April 20, 1987, she enjoys going to the beach, movies and music.
Quoting Coach Petrini: 'Danielle is now a two year captain for us as evidenced by her leadership qualities. She continues to rewrite the Nittany Lion record books as she led the team in almost every major offensive category last year. She is coming back from an off-season injury that has ignited a fire in her to leave this program a champion. It is scary that I don[apos]t think we have seen her best yet!'
