Season: Booked a breakout sophomore season for the Blue & White, appearing in 34 games and starting 14… Finished the year with career-best marks in every statistical category, highlighted by a trio of home runs, including one for a grand slam… Tallied 13 hits, added 10 RBI and scored 13 runs for PSU… Mustered a .455 slugging percentage, good enough for the fifth-highest mark on the team… Logged a 1.000 fielding percentage.
at Norfolk State (3/4): Went 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts, a season-best mark in the category… Scored a run in PSU’s win. Iowa (3/24): Recorded her first collegiate hit in her only at-bat. Rutgers (4/14): Hit for extra bases for the first time, knocking a double while going 1-for-3 in the first game of the day… Launched a three-run homer for her first collegiate long ball, finishing the nightcap 1-for-3. Rutgers (4/16): Crushed Penn State’s only grand slam of the 2023 campaign, setting a career-high single game mark with four RBI. Bucknell (4/18): Homered for the third straight game… Went 2-for-3 overall and scored a career-high three runs…Added her fourth stolen base of the season. at Purdue (5/6): Matched her season high in putouts with a pair. Big Ten Tournament vs. Indiana (5/11): Put together an impressive performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 overall with a run scored and a pair of doubles.

Season: Played 20 games and made one pitching appearance... Had nine runs.

Played high school softball at Page County High School in Shenandoah, Virginia... Helped the Panthers to regular season and regional championships in both 2018 and 2019... Led the Panthers to both a district and state title as freshman in 2018... Was a two-time Shenandoah District First-Team honoree... Earned Region B Second-Team accolades in 2018... Garnered Regional and All-State First Team awards in 2019... Landed the No. 71 national ranking from Extra Innings Softball... Also played varsity basketball and volleyball for the Panthers... PERSONAL
A native of Shenandoah, Virginia, Maddie Gordon is the youngest child and second daughter of Buck and Megan Gordon... Has a pair of older siblings, a sister, named Kate, and a brother named Tristan... Her father, Buck, played college football and baseball at Bridgewater College before playing in the Cubs’ minor league system after college... Her mother, Megan, played college volleyball and softball at Bridgewater College... Sister, Kate, was an All-American softball player at James Madison who helped guide the Dukes through a historic run in 2021 to the Women’s College World Series... Her brother, Tristan, was a member of the Bridgewater College baseball and football teams during his collegiate career... Her uncle, Mike Gomez, played baseball at the University of Delaware before being drafted into the Philadelphia Phillies organization... Her second cousin, Ken Napaver, attended Penn State University... At Page County High School, Gordon was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society... She expects to graduate from Penn State University in the spring of 2025 with a double major in Recreation, Park and Tourism management as well as Human Development and Family Studies... At PSU, she is involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Athletic Department Leadership Institute and Penn State Christian Athletes... She looks forward to a career in sports in the future, where she can focus on giving back to the community... In her spare time, she enjoys art and spending time outdoors.
