2024 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Season: Made 35 appearances with 14 starts in her debut season as a Nittany Lion… Hit at a respectable .250 clip over the course of her freshman season, logging 16 hits in addition to a pair of doubles with a home run in the NCAA Tournament… Credited with nine RBI in her rookie campaign.
at FAU (2/9): Made her collegiate debut as a pinch hitter. vs. Ohio (2/10): Saw her first start as a designated player, logging her first collegiate hit with an RBI single. vs. Ohio (2/11): Published her first career multi-hit outing, finishing the day 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. vs. Kansas (2/16): Scored her first collegiate run after booking a 1-for-3 showing at the dish. Binghamton (3/17): Mustered a hit in her only at-bat of the game after entering at the catcher position, adding a pair of putouts behind the plate. at Wisconsin (4/21): Cranked her first career double and scored a run in the 10-2 PSU victory. NCAA Regional vs. UAlbany (5/18): Went 1-for-2 with a run scored in the NCAA Tournament win. NCAA Regional vs. Texas State (5/18): Recorded her first collegiate home run in an NCAA Regional elimination game, a three-run shot down the left field line.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was a four-year starter at catcher at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, California... Helped lead her squad to a Division I runner-up finish in 2021... Was a First Team All-League selection from her sophomore through senior years... Named a First Team All-CIF selection in her senior year in 2023... Won the California Home Run Derby in 2023, also landing League Athlete of the Year honors in addition to a placement on the state All-Star team... Played alongside current Nittany Lion teammate Jiselle Hernandez as a part of the Corona Angels travel ball organization under the direction of coach Kimbo Howard… Placed third at 2022 Triple Crown Nationals and 2022 Alliance National Championship... Was a team captain for Corona Angels during the 2022-23 campaign.
PERSONAL
A native of San Diego, California, Audree Mendoza is the daughter of Beth and Gil Mendoza... She has a trio of siblings, all sisters, named Baylee, Gracee and Chloee... While in high school at Rancho Bernardo, she earned multiple appearances on the institution’s honor roll... She is currently majoring in Marketing at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, and expects to graduate from PSU in the spring of 2027... She hopes to turn her degree into a full-time marketing job for an oceanic company... In her spare time, Audree enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the beach and hiking.
