LION CAREER:
2009-10: Team Captain Doris Willette earned All-American honors for the fourth year, taking third at the NCAA Championships.
2008-09: Returning after an Olympic red-shirt, Willette stormed her way to a 28-4 regular season record before claiming yet another Mid-Atlantic/South Regional title. Looking to equal her performance as a true freshman at NCAAs, Willette thrilled the home crowd on Penn State[apos]s own campus with an NCAA title-winning performance in March of 2009 to become a two-time NCAA national champion in the foil.
2007-08: Willette was red-shirted to compete in the World Fencing Championships.
2006-07: Doris Willette parlayed outstanding youth credentials into a perfect 33-0 run through the dual meet season as a true freshman. She then stormed the field at Regionals to claim the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional crown and was unstoppable at the 2007 NCAA Championships, claiming the individual women[apos]s foil crown in her first trip to the tournament. The freshman All-American posted dual match records of 13-0, 14-0, 5-0 and 1-0. Willette was Penn State[apos]s first freshman national champion since Katarzyna Trzopek won the epee title as a freshman in 2003.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Willette was a member of the U.S. Junior World Team in both 2005 and 2006. She was a finalist each year and, on the way to the finals in 2006, she downed the current World Cup holder from Slovenia. She was a member of the U.S. Senior team at the 2006 World Championships as well.
