LION CAREER:
2008-09: Thompson finished just shy of her quest to become a three-time All-American with an 11th place finish at nationals last year. She went 26-5 in dual meets and won yet another Mid-Atlantic/South Regional crown.
2007-08: Red-shirt season.
2006-07: Thompson posted a superb 27-3 record in Penn State[apos]s duals last year, seeing action in only the first two and not fencing in February[apos]s two dual events. Thompson finished second at Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals and went on to claim the 2007 NCAA Silver Medal. Thompson posted dual match records of 12-2 and 15-1. An outstanding student, Thompson earned Academic All-Big Ten laurels as well.
2005-06: Thompson burst out of the gates as a freshmen in the saber, going 21-4 overall and winning the Mid-Atlantic South Regional title. At her first NCAA tournament, the Oregon native placed fourth to earn All-America status, and she won gold at the Senior Worlds in Leipzig.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Thompson was a member of the 2005 Gold Medal Junior Team and won two golds at the 2004 Junior World Championships. She was sixth at the 2004 Senior Nationals, claimed a total of five silver or bronze medals at Junior and Senior A World Cup Events and is a member of the 2005 U.S. World Championship Team.
