AS A SENIOR IN 2018-19: Chang added another impressive season to her Penn State resume. She finished the season with a 44-23 record that included six 3-0 performances. Chang finished third at the Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals and finished fifth at the NCAA Championships where she earned 2019 All-American Honors.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2017-18: Chang saw plenty of action in her junior year ending with a 28-20 record and All-American honors. In her third year in the blue and white, Chang had three shutout perfromances and had a third place finish in the Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals. Chang went to compete at the NCAA Championship where she went 17 of 23 with a plus 38 indicator, which put her into the final four where she fenced teammate Zara Moss in the semi-finals.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2016-17: Chang saw plenty of action after her year off ending the season with a 42-23 record. Chang had four shutout performances and competed in the Mid-Atlantic/ Southern Regionals where she placed third. Chang went on to compete at the NCAA Championships where she finished in 12th place.
IN 2015-16: Chang took the year off to pursue a spot on Hong Kong's Olympic team.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2014-15: Chang saw plenty of action her first season as a Nittany Lion. Chang ended the season with a 25-17 record, earning her a spot at Regionals where she placed first and going on to finish second at NCAA Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL/ PERSONAL: Karen Chang comes to Penn State all the way from Hong Kong. She is currently an engineering major who chose Penn State for its great fencing program. She previously fenced for Hong Kong Fencing School under head coach Wong Tsan.
