Ronit Parker enters her third season with the Nittany Lions in 2022 as an assistant coach. Parker brings experience to the program as both a championship title professional in the Women's Tennis Association Tour (WTA) and a Big Ten student-athlete and coach.
In her first two seasons as assistant coach, Parker has assisted in overseeing a turnaround for the program which includes the Nittany Lions earning their first winning conference record since 2015 in 2021. The Nittany Lions captured a 9-7 record in league play that year while Gabby O’Gorman was an All-Big Ten honoree.
The 2020 spring was shortened due to the COVID-19 Pandemic cancelling Big Ten play. Despite the pandemic, Parker assisted the Nittany Lions to five wins early on, including victories over Iowa State, Marshall and VCU.
Parker spent the 2018-19 season on staff with the Michigan women’s tennis team. She helped guide the Wolverines to a sweep of the Big Ten championship and Big Ten Tournament title, as well as a trip to the NCAA Super Regionals.
Parker earned All-America laurels and four All-Big Ten honors as a player at Michigan from 2012-16, leading the Wolverines to three Big Ten championships during her time in the Maize and Blue. Parker graduated third in singles wins (117) with an all-time winning percentage of .755. She was one of two Wolverines in program history to make four NCAA Singles Championship appearances and ended each of her four seasons ranked in the top 50.
Parker earned All-Big Ten honors in all four seasons and was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2013. She also picked up ITA Midwest Region Rookie of the Year honors in 2013 and capped her career being named the 2016 ITA Midwest Region Senior of the Year. Michigan advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years and reached the Elite Eight in 2016 during her senior season. Parker was Michigan's Big Ten Female Sportsmanship honoree in 2016.
Parker spent two years as a professional on the WTA Tour before returning to her alma mater in a coaching role. She holds a career singles ranking of 357 and career doubles ranking of 276.
A native of New Kensington, Pa., Parker graduated from Michigan in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management.
