BEFORE PSU
Friedland was highly touted a five-star recruit ranked as high as No. 54 and No. 4 in Florida. She trained at Smatt Tennis Academy and attended Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High and earned a UTR rating of 10. Friedland teamed up with Michigan State’s Ayshe Can to win the 2018 USTA Florida “Bobby Curtis” Junior State Doubles Championship in a bracket that featured future Nittany Lion teammate Danielle Alamo. Her father, David Friedland, played tennis collegiately at the University of Miami from 1990-93.
