Christina Diaz serves as the assistant athletics director for development and enrichment. Diaz is also the sport administrative roles for men’s and women’s tennis. In her role, she oversees the development and enrichment unit which focuses on education and programming for Penn State's more than 800 student-athletes. Part of the sports performance team, development and enrichment focuses on student-athletes development during their time at Penn State, providing education and programming focused on enriching lives now and always. The programming falls under three buckets; personal development, professional development and enrichment through community. Additionally, development and enrichment offers supplemental programming like diversity and inclusion, leadership, and award programs. Name, Image, and Likeness is also housed under development and enrichment with STATEment, the educational programming offering beginner, advanced, and expert levels focused on opportunities, brand, and financial responsibility.
Diaz continues to be an active member of the Advisory Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ACDEI), and is the chair for the Student-Athlete Education subcommittee. After serving a year as a facilitator for the Athletic Director’s Leadership Institute (ADLI), Diaz leads the programming in her current role.
Previously, Diaz was the special assistant to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics from 2021-22 and the softball director of operations from 2017-21.
Prior to Penn State, Diaz spent time as a compliance coordinator at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and Jacksonville University (JU). She also coached volleyball at JU and Radford University. Diaz holds a Master of Business Administration from JU and a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida, where she was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball under the legendary coach, Mary Wise.
