Strategic Communications
Description: Provides the opportunity to learn what athletic communication entails by completing in-office hours as well as game day event hours. Interns will assist strategic communications full-time staff members with day-to-day responsibilities of the job including: social media, website management, press releases, game notes, stats, media relations, research and more. Students will have the opportunity to work with several different sports in office as well as work games for a wide variety of sports that Penn State offers. Interns will learn the skills needed to work in the industry while utilizing different platforms such as InDesign, Photoshop, PremierePro, Statcrew/Genius and work on gopsusports.com

Hiring Cadence: Applications are submitted via Workday and reviewed by the leaders of the Student Program. If chosen for an interview, students will be contacted to set up a zoom or in person meeting with the two Strategic Communications staff members. If selected for the internship, interns will receive an email with acceptance as well as all onboarding information that will be necessary before beginning.
