UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; May, 31, 2007 -- Three of the Nittany Lions' best have been named as 2007 women's soccer co-captains of Penn State's squad. Senior forward Aubrey Aden-Buie (Allentown. Pa.), junior defender Jessie Davis (Fairfax, Va.), and redshirt-senior defender Jean Rettig (Hummelstown, Pa.) will take over the captain's duties for the coming season. The Nittany Lions are aiming for a 10th Big Ten title after capturing the 2007 regular season and tournament crowns.

Aubrey Aden-Buie

Aden-Buie led the Nittany Lions offensively throughout the season with 28 points. She scored 12 goals, including game-winners against Bucknell, Purdue, and Northwestern. Aden-Buie has had 19 goals during her career as a Nittany Lion. Aden-Buie was named 2006 Big Ten Tournament Offensive MVP and along with five other Nittany Lions, she earned All-Big Ten honors. The Pa. native was also named a member of the ESPN The Magazine Third Team Academic All-America squad.

Davis, a key member of the Nittany Lion defense, played in all 26 contests during the 2006 season. She had her first career goal in a 2-0 shutout against Michigan Nov. 3. She finished the season with two goals and one assist.

Rettig started in the first three games of the 2006 season and had one assist before being injured during the third game with a grade two concussion and a broken nose. Continuing to join her team at practice and games, she became a sideline leader. She chose to take a medical redshirt and join the team for one final season in 2007.

Under new head coach Erica Walsh, the Nittany Lions will be in the hunt for their 10th consecutive Big Ten conference title. Be sure to check back often for the release of the 2007 women's soccer schedule.
