Vincent Reydams Named Big Ten Co-Swimmer of the Week

Jan. 9, 2008

University Park, Pa. - Vincent Reydams of the men's swimming team was named the Big Ten Co-Swimmer of the Week after his efforts helped lead the Nittany Lion men's swimming team to a dual meet win over Indian River Community College on Sunday in Naples, Fla. The win helped the Nittany Lions improve to 3-1 on the year in dual meets and the meet was part of Penn State's annual winter training trip held in the Naples, Fla. area.

Reydams, one of the rising swimmers in the Big Ten, swam on the first place 400 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams. He also finished second in the 50 freestyle in Sunday's meet. Reydams, who made his first NCAA Championships appearance last year through his work on Penn State's relay teams, has been one of the Penn State's top relay swimmers this year and was risen to the top of Penn State's deep pool of freestyle sprinters.

The men's swimming team, as well as the women, will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Pittsburgh for a multi-team dual meet format.
