UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., Aug. 18, 2008 - A young Nittany Lion basketball team that carries a five-game Big Ten home win streak into the 2008-09 season will launch the "Lil' Lion Club" this season with benefits directed at eighth grade and under Penn State basketball fans.
Young fans are encouraged to take part in the fun and excitement of a young and building Nittany Lion team than knocked off a pair of Top 25 ranked teams late last year in the Bryce Jordan Center while starting four freshmen. Membership in the "Lil' Lion Club" includes tickets to 10 Nittany Lion home games, including the Big Ten opener and five subsequent Big Ten games of your choice, where fans can cheer on the fearless drives of point-guard Talor Battle and the raw power and intensity of forward Jamelle Cornley.
For just a $35 membership, fans receive 10 tickets plus: an official T-shirt, exclusive mid-season basketball clinic, a post-game autograph session with the team, a mid-season pizza party, a personalized birthday card from the team, official pen and paper set, recognition on the Jordan Center scoreboard and discounts on future Nittany Lion basketball camps.

Penn State officially opens its season on Nov. 14 vs. William and Mary in the Bryce Jordan Center. The Nittany Lions return seven players that started 12 or more games last season, including its top two scorers in Talor Battle (10.2 ppg) and Jamelle Cornley (12.1 ppg) and five of its top six rebounders.
