Penn State Fans Score Touchdown with Integrated Wireless Program from AT&T

Sept. 18, 2008

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Want a game-day reminder or a free ticket offer from your favorite team? AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and Penn State University today announced the launch of an integrated wireless and texting program to keep Nittany Lion fans further connected to their favorite Penn State sports teams whether they're at the game or on the go.

Fans can now text Lions to 72645 to receive text alerts with game day reminders and the latest team statistics, updates and news for Nittany Lion football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis and several other sports. The alerts will also direct consumers to a Nittany Lion-specific portal where they can find information and content from their favorite team. Standard text message rates apply. During football season, fans will be able to test their Penn State knowledge and wirelessly participate in trivia and compete for a chance to win an AT&T wireless phone. Fans can win by texting PSU1, PSU2 or PSU3 during the first half of the game. The trivia answer will be announced in the second half of the game.

"This is a great opportunity for Lions fans to really get in the action and receive all the team news and information they could want," said Penn State Associate Athletic Director for Business Relations and Communications Greg Myford. "This wireless program allows us to connect with our fans in new and unique ways - whether they're in the stands or sitting at home in front of their big-screen TV."

"We're thrilled to give Nittany Lion fans more ways to stay connected to their favorite team," said Tim McGhee, Director, AT&T Corporate Sponsorships. "This is a great way to showcase AT&T mobile technology and our support for Penn State athletics."

Penn State University is one of 22 collegiate athletic programs nationwide to participate in AT&T's integrated wireless and texting program, which is one the largest wireless collegiate programs of its kind. It's also one of the first wireless programs to enable collegiate sports teams to use texting to deliver in-game activities, news alerts and content to wireless handsets, enhancing the fan experience and allowing teams to connect more effectively with their fans across the country.

The integrated wireless and texting program is an important part of AT&T's mission to connect people with their world, everywhere they live and work, and do it better than anyone else.
