UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., Jan. 8, 2009 - The highly acclaimed and award winning "Penn State Basketball Story" debuts Friday and will air weekly throughout the Big Ten season with highlights and features on Nittany Lion basketball.
The show, which features an inside look at the Nittany Lions' season, players and coaches, will air eight episodes throughout the Big Ten season appearing Sunday's at 11:00 a.m. on WPSU-TV (channel 3) and at 11:30 a.m. on WTAJ-TV (channel 10) in the State College area. The show also airs throughout Pennsylvania and the nation in several markets on select stations and cable systems (check local listings). Segments from the show may also be viewed at GoPSUsports.com.
Penn State is coming off an upset of No. 14 Purdue and is riding its best start in 13 seasons with a 13-3 mark and 2-1 Big Ten record in its sixth season under coach Ed DeChellis. Sophomore guard Talor Battle leads the conference in scoring and is joined by seniors Jamelle Cornley and Stanley Pringle ranking in the Top 10 in scoring.
The Nittany Lions, 10-1 at home on the year, return to action taking on No. 19/22 Minnesota in Minneapolis this Sunday (3:30 p.m. (ET) on the Big Ten Network) before returning home to face No. 8 Michigan State at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14 in the Jordan Center.
