No. 17 Women's Gymnastics Welcomes No. 11 Alabama, No. 19 Ohio State In Final Home Meet

The 17th-ranked Penn State women's gymnastics team hosts No. 11 Alabama and No. 19 Ohio State for a tri-meet on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Rec Hal. Live scoring will be available at www.GoPSUsports.com and the meet will be televised on the Big Ten Network on a tape-delay basis on Sunday, March 8 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for youth and $2 per person for groups of 10 or more. All tickets will be available at the Rec Hall ticket office the afternoon of the meet. The meet is a Code Blue event, with great prizes for Penn State students in attendance.

This weekend will also be Alumni Weekend for the women's gymnastics program, with more than 65 former student-athletes, coaches and managers returning to Happy Valley, including representatives from Penn State's two national championship teams. Several All-Americans and individual national champions will also be on-hand for the post-meet ceremony.

Last Time Out Aided by season-highs on bars and beam, the Penn State women's gymnastics team recorded a season-best 196.175 to finish first in its second quad meet of the year on Feb. 21 at Rec Hall. As a team, Penn State recorded team scores of 48.925 on vault, a season-high 49.200 on bars, a season-best 49.225 on beam and a 48.825 on floor. Junior Alexandra Brockway was named the Ann Carr Award winner as the most inspirational gymnast of the meet. Brockway competed in the all-around for the first time this season and scored a career-high 39.175 in the all-around, anchored by a personal-best-tying 9.825 on beam.

Individually in the National Rankings Brandi Personett is 22nd in the all-around with a Regional Qualifying Average of 39.155 and ranks third in the country on floor with a Regional Qualifying Average of 9.895.

BTN Broadcasts This weekend's meet will be televised by the Big Ten Network on a tape-delay basis on Sunday, March 8 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The Nittany Lions were also on the BTN at Michigan on Friday, Feb. 13.

Personett Adds Another Junior Brandi Personett was named the Big Ten Co-Gymnast of the Week on Feb. 23. It is the seventh career honor and the third of the season for Personett, who was also honored on Jan. 26 and Feb. 9. She shared the honor with Iowa's Rebecca Simbhudas. Personett picked up her fifth individual all-around title and her seventh top-three all-around finish with a 39.450 in Penn State's second quad meet of the year against New Hampshire, Rutgers and Bridgeport. The junior earned her sixth vault title with a 9.900, her fifth straight 9.9 or better in the event. On bars, Personett finished second with a 9.850, her third-highest score of the year, and on beam, she placed fifth with a 9.825, just shy of her season high of 9.850. Personett captured her sixth individual crown on floor with a 9.875.

Brockway Brings It Junior Alexandra Brockway competed in her first all-around of the year in Penn State's quad meet with Rutgers, New Hampshire and Bridgeport. Brockway, who was already scheduled to compete vault, bars and beam, stepped up to fill in for an injured Rosie Smith on floor and made her mark on the meet. She was named the Ann Carr Award winner as the most inspirational gymnast of the meet, tallying a career-high 39.175 in the all-around, anchored by a personal-best-tying 9.825 on beam. She also put up 9.750 on vault, a first-place 9.875 on bars and a fourth-place 9.725 on floor to finish third in the all-around.
