The Lady Lions head to Indianapolis for the 2009 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament as the eighth seed. Coach Coquese Washington shares what it takes to win during these types of big events. The team challenges ninth-seeded Illinois and the winner of that game will go on to play top-ranked Ohio State. The Lady Lions finished the season tied for seventh.
As the bulk of the 2008-2009 season winds down, the Lady Lions move into the final stretch with a few Big Ten honors for the team. Lady Lion guard Tyra Grant finishes up her junior season with a selection to the All-Big Ten first team by both the coaches and the media. On this episode of "Courtside with Coquese," Coach Washington and her players celebrate these accolades and reflect on Senior Day, which includes a big win in front of the hometown crowd last week against Northwestern.

During this episode, we'll open up the family storybook again. Sophomore guard Julia Trogele and her father share stories about her early beginnings with the sport and we'll learn about one of her favorite foods as a child. Nutrition tips from Penn State sports nutritionist Kristine Clark and Basketball 101 round out the episode.
The program won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy in 2008 for best Sports Program/Series.

Coach Coquese Washington is in her second season as head coach of the Penn State Lady Lion Basketball Team. She came to Penn State from Notre Dame University, where she served as an assistant for eight seasons, most recently as associate head coach. She is considered one of the top recruiters in the country and was instrumental in helping Notre Dame secure eight consecutive Top 25 recruiting classes, according to Blue Star Index. Her 2009 recruiting class is ranked #7 by Blue Star Basketball and #13 by the All Star Girls Report.
