UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The seniors of the Penn State women's basketball team will be holding a Lady Lions at Penn Skates Party to raise money for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society as part of a senior service project. Rashida Mark (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Brianne O'Rourke (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Mashea Williams (Erie, Pa.), the three Lady Lion seniors, will host the event, which takes place on Saturday, April 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m., at Penn Skates, located at 2210 High Tech Road.
"We are very excited about this event and couldn't think of a better way to give back to the community," senior O'Rourke said. "We have all known someone affected by this terrible disease and are all hoping to find a cure in the very near future. We are proud to donate in our small way to a great organization like the American Cancer Society."
The cost for the event is $10 for adults and $7 for children (12 & under). The event will include great music, food, contests and prizes and members of the Lady Lions and other special guests will be on hand to sign autographs.
