UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Kerry Shea (Baltimore, Md.) has been nominated for Best Senior Midfielder by LaxPower.com as part of its third annual Fan Choice Awards. The 2009 team co-captain is one of six midfielders under consideration for the honor.
Fans can vote for Shea, along with Penn State men's nominee Drew Adams (Goalkeeper of the Year), by visiting the LaxPower website here. Voting continues through Fri., May 8.
Shea, a First Team All-ALC selection in 2009, is a true midfielder who combines scoring ability with exceptional defensive skills. Also a two-time Second Team All-ALC and IWLCA All-Region honoree, she finished the season second among Nittany Lions in goals (24), ground balls (34), and caused turnovers (19) and third in points (27) and draw controls (27). In 58 career games, Shea totaled 84 goals and 17 assists.
LaxPower will reveal the winners for Women's Division I on Saturday, May 23 during championship weekend.
