May 20, 2009: Further Student Ticket Sale Info and Instruction

May 20, 2009

Greetings:

The 2009 Student Football Season Ticket sale is rapidly approaching. Please read the information below very carefully, as it details important instructions for the ticket pre-registration and purchase process.

Please note that in addition to the opportunity to purchase football season tickets ($247.00), you can also order this year's Official Penn State White Out Shirt ($15.00). No additional fees will be added.

The 2009 student season ticket sale will occur in two stages:
1. Mandatory pre-registration period for all returning undergraduate and graduate students, as well as first-year graduate and first-year law students. This does not include incoming freshmen or first-time transfer students from another university. The pre-registration will occur May 27 at 8:00 AM through May 31 at 5:00 PM). Note: All times are Eastern Time. This mandatory pre-registration confirms your intent to participate in the student football ticket sale. To pre-register, please go to http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/16740. The pre-registration process will mirror the actual sales process in June. As part of this pre-registration, you will go through the steps of "BUYING" your pre-registration, but no costs will be incurred. Upon successfully completing the pre-registration process, you will be eligible to participate in your assigned class sale.

2. The first-come, first-served sale for 2009 student season tickets will be held over a five day period. Students can and should view their total credits via the eLion Grades and eLion Transcripts as soon as they receive these instructions. The final date to include student credits for the 2009 sale is May 15 at 5:00 PM. That alone is the determining factor in which class sale you will participate. The sale is staged as follows:

• SENIORS - Monday, June 22, 7:00 a.m. - 91.1 credits or more at the completion of Spring '09 semester
• JUNIORS - Tuesday, June 23, 7:00 a.m. - 59.1 to 91 credits at the completion of Spring '09 semester
• SOPHOMORES - Wednesday, June 24, 7:00 a.m. - 27.1 to 59 credits at the completion of Spring '09 semester
• FRESHMEN - Thursday, June 25, 8:00 p.m. - This includes all incoming Penn State undergraduate students and students with less than 27.1 credits at the completion of Spring '09 semester
• GRADUATE STUDENTS - Friday, June 26, 7:00 AM

Please note that all sale times are Eastern Time. Each sale will last until all tickets for that class have been sold. When no tickets remain, the message "We couldn't find tickets that matched your request" will show on the purchase screen.

THE FOLLOWING ARE YOUR INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SALE:

Please make special note that a Ticketmaster Account is needed for both pre-registration and participation in the sale. Instructions for doing so are provided below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In the pre-registration process, do not hit the refresh button, do not page back and do not have multiple browsers open, as any of these will take away your place in the sale and you will have to begin again behind all others in line. In addition, your acknowledged wait time may fluctuate up and down throughout the sale process. That is an indication of current sales activity and does not affect your place in line.

PREPARATION
If you are a returning full-time student and currently do not have a Ticketmaster account, you can obtain that account in advance or through the pre-registration process. For all incoming freshmen and transfer students from another university, please create a Ticketmaster account prior to your assigned sale date. To create your account, please go to www.ticketmaster.com. At the top of the page, click on the "My Ticketmaster" tab. Please follow the instructions provided on the page to create a new account. As further preparation, please have your nine digit student ID#, a valid credit card and your Ticketmaster account on hand before you begin the Pre-registration (May 27-May 31) and Purchase process. All tickets must be purchased with a credit card. The credit card must be valid, but does not need to be in the student's name. Please be aware that various steps of the process are timed and exceeding those time limits will eliminate you from the sale and you will have to begin again. Timing limits are noted below.
