TORONTO, Ontario; June 4, 2009 - Christine Nairn (Bowie, Md.), an incoming freshman midfielder, stepped on the field for the U.S. Women's National Senior Team for the first time on May 25 in a 4-0 victory over Canada in Toronto.
Nairn became the first member of the 2008 U-20 Women's World Cup championship team to earn a senior team cap, coming on for Angela Hucles in the 83rd minute.
The Bowie. Md. product out of Archbishop Spalding High is the eighth player to be given her first cap by U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage.
The squad will play two more games against Canada this summer, July 19 in Rochester, N.Y. and July 22 at Charleston, S.C.
Nairn is the youngest participant on the U.S. Senior Team at 18 years old.
