After two days and three rounds of golf in Madison, Wisc., the women's golf team finished with a three round score of 951 (314-316-321). This gave them a 14th place finish after completing the end of the second round and all of the third round today at the Lady Northern Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin.

Junior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) put together the best numbers on the team with scores of 79-77-81 (237). She finished in a tie for 52nd place. Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) came in three strokes behind Carando, 77-82-81 (240), putting her tied for 66th place.

Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) recorded a score of 242 for three rounds, one stroke ahead of Junior Brianna Malcolmson's (Murwillumbah, Australia) score of 243. Senior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Freshman Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Ill.) rounded out the field for the Nittany Lions.

The Purdue won the tournament as a team, with an impressive 865 in three rounds, just one over par. They finished 13 strokes ahead of fellow Big Ten teams Ohio State and Michigan State, who each recorded a score of 878.

Penn State will have one week to prepare for the Nittany Lion Invitational, hosted on its home course. It will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4.
