UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - The Penn State women's tennis team volunteered at the 2009 Centre County Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk on Saturday at Tudek Park in State College. The Nittany Lions spent their day playing with kids and helping them with arts and crafts.
The day included a walk followed by crafts for kids and entertainment from local bands, Star Wars characters, Ike the Spike, the 3WZ Zebra and the State College Area High School Little Lion. Participants in the Buddy Walk help make a difference in the lives of individuals with Downs Syndrome. Money raised helps the Centre County Down Syndrome Society and the National Down Syndrome Society.
The Lions are in the midst of their fall season. They travel to Lexington, Kent. this weekend for the University of Kentucky Invitational, followed by the ITA Regional in Blacksburg, Va. Starting on Oct. 22.
