UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - Penn State's dramatic 19-17 win over No. 13 LSU in the 2010 Capital One Bowl will re-air twice on the Big Ten Network during the next 10 days.
Collin Wagner's career-high fourth field goal of the game, with :57 to play, lifted Penn State to its fourth bowl win in the past five years. The Nittany Lions (11-2) earned their third 11-win season in the past five years (15th overall under Joe Paterno) and will likely earn their 23rd Top 10 finish under the Hall of Fame coach when the final polls are announced Friday.
The Capital One Bowl will air on the Big Ten Network on Monday, Jan. 11 at 6:00 p.m. ET and again on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 3:00 p.m., immediately following the Penn State-Iowa men's basketball game, which tips at 1:00 p.m. on the Network.
The Big Ten Network will televise two additional Penn State basketball games during the next week. On Sunday, Jan. 10, the Lady Lions (10-4, 2-2) host Indiana for a 12:00 p.m. tip in the Bryce Jordan Center. The Nittany Lions (8-6, 0-2) host Michigan on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. (ESPN2) and travel to Illinois on Tuesday, Jan. 12 for a 9:00 p.m. ET tip on the Big Ten Network.
The Big Ten Network also plans to re-air the 2009-10 Rose, FedEx Orange and Champs Sports Bowls won by Conference teams during the next five days. The Big Ten earned four bowl wins over Top 15 teams and won two Bowl Championship Series games and the Capital One Bowl for the first time since the 2005 season. Also, earlier this week, Charter Communications launched the Big Ten Network to its customers in metropolitan St. Louis and southern Illinois. Charter launched the Big Ten Network on its Expanded Basic-Digital level of service. The Big Ten Network is available to approximately 75 million cable and satellite homes.
