Big Ten Network "Hoops On Campus" Taping Thursday At The BJC/Lions' game at Michigan State Set For March 4 On ESPN

University Park, Pa., Feb. 3, 2010 - The Big Ten Network will shine a light on the energy and campus spirit at Penn State Thursday when it tapes its "Hoops On Campus" show from the Bryce Jordan Center. The hour-long show, which will air Friday, Feb. 5 at 10 p.m. (ET) on the Network prior to the Nittany Lions' Saturday, Feb. 6 game vs. Minnesota at Jordan Center, will be led by studio hosts Mike Hall and Jimmy Jackson and will feature Nittany Lion fans and several segments shot on the University Park campus over the past two days.

Penn State students and all Nittany Lions fans are encouraged to attend the ESPN GameDay type taping of the show in the Bryce Jordan Center's South Gym on Thursday night. Doors to the Jordan Center will open at 6:00 p.m. with taping running from 6:30 p.m. until around 8:00 p.m. There will be contests and prizes for fans, including a $100 Best Buy gift certificate and gift cards to several local restaurants.

Thursday's taping will feature the Penn State Blue Band, cheerleaders and dance team and interviews with Nittany Lion coach Ed DeChellis, junior Talor Battle and a segment with sophomore Chris Babb. Members of the Nittany Lion mens' volleyball team will take on Penn State students in a dunk contest and a pair of Nittany Lion football players will face-off against students in a three-point shooting contest.

This will be the fourth stop on the "Hoops on Campus" tour following previous stops at Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan State and Northwestern. The show is dedicating to showing the atmosphere and spirit surrounding college basketball on each Big Ten campus.

The Big Ten has also announced the time and date for the Nittany Lions' March game at No. 5-ranked Michigan State. The contest will be played on Thursday, March 4 as part ESPN's Thursday Night Showcase. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2.

Penn State takes on No. 13 Ohio State Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio. That game can be seen live on the Big Ten Network or heard live on the Penn State Sports Network.
