After three rounds of play at the Big Ten Championships hosted by Wisconsin, the Nittany Lions are currently in ninth place heading into the final round. Penn State posted a third round score of 309, leaving them at 918 for the tournament (304-305-309) for a +54.
Senior Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) moved up two spots from the previous round with her new season-best 75 in the third round. This gives Cullen a score of 228 (76-77-75) for a +12 through three rounds, earning a tie for 29th place. Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) matched Cullen's three-round score of 228 (72-78-78).
Freshman Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) also moved up three spots from the previous day after carding a 76 in the third round. Her score of 231 (79-76-76) is good for a tie for 38th place. Juniors Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) and Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) finished back-to-back as Carando has a 235 (80-75-80) and Fanelli has carded a 236 (77-77-82). Junior Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) rounded out the field for the Nittany Lions with a 237 through the first three rounds.
Purdue continues to lead the tournament, as it currently has an 865 (289-282-294) for a +1 collectively. Ashley Bauer of Michigan kept her first place spot through the third round and currently holds a one stroke lead over Purdue's Laura Gonzalez. Bauer holds a score of 210 (74-65-71) and is -6 in the tournament.
The final round of the Big Ten Championships will be played tomorrow, April 25, and will begin at 8 a.m. at the University Ridge Golf Course.
