Nittany Lion Lacrosse Team Takes Part in Centre County United Way's Day of Caring

Oct. 8, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Nittany Lion lacrosse team, under the guidance of new head coach Jeff Tambroni, proudly took part in the 2010 Centre County United Way Day of Caring. The event, the 17th for the CCUW, took place at various places around the Centre Region.

Members of the Nittany Lion lacrosse squad helped paint the interior of the Centre Region Senior Center. The squad sent groups out to work on the project between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., working with other groups from the area to complete a much needed and much appreciated project.

The annual event is always well-received in the area and the Centre Daily Times gave the event ample coverage in both words and pictures. The second link features outstanding CDT photos of Nittany Lions Brendan Nave, Ryne Sternberg, Tom LaCrosse, Ryan Mullen and others:

Virginia Shawley, Supervisor of the Centre Region Senior Center, was appreciative of the efforts as well. "The laughter, the respect for one another and the camaraderie of each helping hand has made our center more bright and cheerful on this Day of Caring," Shawley said. "Their energy has painted our center and our hearts with such bright colors of joy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
