WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The three-day, four-round Big Ten Championship concluded Sunday at the Kampen Course with Penn State posting a tournament-total of 1208 (297-294-316-301) to finish in ninth. Illinois took the tournament title with an 8-over par 1160 (293-288-298-281).
Sophomore Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) came in big this weekend for the Nittany Lions with his 5-over par final score of 293 (71-73-74-75). Woodward tallied 11 birdies in his ninth place finish. With a 2-over par final round of 74, senior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) placed tied for 21. Howe carded rounds of 73-71-81-74 (299). Sophomore Anthony DeGol tied for 36 with a four-round total of 306 (74-75-81-76). Junior Nick Archambault (Q.C., Canada) shot a 23-over par 311 (79-75-79-78) to conclude tied for 43. Senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Conn.) shot his tournament best of 77 in the final round to finish tied for 53 with a four-round total of 320 (80-80-84-77).
