UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With a three-round total of 205 (68-68-69), 2010 Penn State grad Kevin Foley takes the NJSGA Open Championship by five strokes on Thursday at the Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, New Jersey.
Play for the 91st edition of the Open commenced Tuesday with Jason Lamp, the head professional at Deal Golf & Country Club, firing a six-under 65 in the first round to give him a three-stroke cushion over Foley going into the second day of competition. Wednesday's round displayed consistency from Foley as the 24 year-old matched his first round score of 68 to give him a six-under par two-round total and to secure the first place position going into the final round. Foley capped off the championship with a two-under par 69 to award him his first ever State Open title with an eight-under par 205.
