STOKIE, Ill. - The Penn State men's golf team finished in 15th after three rounds of play at the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern at the par-70, 6,793-yard Evanston Golf Club. The Nittany Lions carded a 47-over-par total of 889 (297-295-297).

Senior Tommy McDonagh(East Norwalk, Conn.) finished on top for the Nittany Lions for the second time this fall. He led the team in scoring through the first and second rounds shooting a 2-over-par 72 and a 1-under-par 69, respectively. McDonagh's third round score of 78 gave him a total of 219 to tie for 42nd.

Freshman Xander McDonald-Smith (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) tied his career-low score of 73 in the final round. The freshman tallied a three-round total of 223 (74-76-73) to tie for 57th. Junior Jay Woodward's(Bridgeport, W.Va.) 1-over-par 71 in the final round boosted him 21 spots up the individual leader board from his first round position. With scores of 76-76-71 (223), Woodward finished tied with teammate McDonald-Smith for 57th.

Sophomore Shane Stewartplayed consistently, posting rounds of 75-74-75 (224) to tie for 63rd. During the second round, Stewart shot his first-ever collegiate eagle while on the 503-yard sixth hole.

In his season debut, senior Nick Archambault(Q.C., Canada) finished tied for 83, carding rounds of 79-76-79 (234).

No. 8 Arkansas took the tournament title with a score of 847 (274-276-297), four strokes over the second place tie shared between No. 22 UCLA and No. 43 Indiana. Michigan's Matt Thompson's 5-under-par third round total propelled him to the first place individual finish. The talented senior finished with a 205 (69-71-65).

The Nittany Lions will wrap up their fall campaign in November at the Amelia National Intercollegiate. The tournament is set to take place Nov. 7-8 in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
