Women's Gymnastics Holds Holiday Intra-Squad

Dec. 18, 2011

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 13 Penn State women's gymnastics team is holding its final intra-squad of the Fall semester on Monday, Dec. 19. Action is set for 11:45 a.m. in the Penn State gymnastics practice facility in the White Building.

"It's a great way for us as coaches to see where the team stands right now," said associate head coach Rachelle Thompson. "It will also be a good way for the girls to measure themselves in how hard they have worked over the last five months. They are more than ready to go and show our fans how excited they are to kick off the 2012 campaign."

The intra-squad will begin on the uneven bars. The team will then move on to beam, floor and end on vault, which is the event order for the team's first meet at West Virginia on Jan. 8. Following the intra-squad the team will be available for autographs and to distribute the 2012 team poster.

Season tickets for the Penn State men's and women's gymnastics meets, including double dual meets, are now available. Tickets can be purchased through the Athletic Ticket Office by calling 1-800-NITTANY.

Season ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for youth. Season tickets are split into three separate packages, women's (two meets), men's (two meets) and double duals (two meets). Single tickets are also available for purchase in advance and at the door prior to the meet. They are $8 for adults and $5 for youth and groups of 15 or more. Group tickets can be purchased in advance for a reduced rate of $4 each.

The Penn State women's gymnastics team hosts four meets in Rec Hall in 2012. The Nittany Lions open the 2012 slate in a tri-meet at West Virginia with Maryland on Jan. 8, before traveling to New Hampshire on Jan. 14. The Lions welcome Michigan State, Cornell and Alabama to Rec Hall on Jan. 21 for their home opener.
