UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men's swimming & diving team will host two meets this weekend when Buffalo and Lehigh come to town starting Friday. The Nittany Lions face the Bulls at 4 p.m. on Friday before squaring off with the Mountain Hawks on Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Meet. The pre-meet senior ceremony will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Penn State (2-6) will celebrate the careers of its senior class on Saturday vs. Lehigh. Brian Alden (Lansdale, Pa.), Scott Marino (Scotch Plains, N.J.), Brent Sanderson (Chadds Ford, Pa.) and Mitch Scherer (Pottstown, Pa.) will compete for the final time at McCoy Natatorium this weekend and will be honored prior to the Lehigh dual.
The Nittany Lions are coming off defeats to No. 4 Michigan and No. 9 Ohio State. Penn State looks to improve its winning ways over Buffalo (5-0), who has never defeated PSU in six meetings. Last season, Penn State dropped the Bulls 129-110, winning nine of 13 events.
For Saturday, PSU takes on Lehigh for the sixth time in the pool. Last year's dual was cancelled for the second straight year due to wintry weather. The two teams haven't met since a Dec. 9, 1978 meet where Penn State won 69-53.
