Aug. 31, 2012

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State freshman standout Raquel Rodriguez (San Jose, Costa Rica) and Costa Rica will take on Abby Wambach and the rest of Team USA in a friendly match at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday. The game will be televised live on NBC.

One of Costa Rica's top players, Rodriguez has been a fixture on the youth circuit, leading the U-17 team to the FIFA World Cup in 2008, scoring once, while helping the U-20 team to the 2010 World Cup as well. The freshman, who is missing Penn State's two games this weekend to be with Costa Rica, has four points on a goal and assist this season for the Nittany Lions.
