Foley earns Full Status on the PGA's Web.Com Tour

Aug. 6, 2012

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Former Penn State golfer Kevin Foley is making a name for himself on the Web.com Tour, as he continues his quest to make the PGA Tour. He will be competing this week at the Cox Classic, presented by Lexus of Omaha.

The Web.com Tour (formerly the Nationwide Tour) was founded in 1990 and is the primary developmental circuit for the PGA Tour. Foley is the first Penn State golfer to earn full status on the Web.com Tour. Kevin was able to obtain this status by finishing a season-best fifth place at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational, played at the Ohio State Scarlet Golf Club. Kevin needed to earn $9,000 to obtain full status on the Web.com Tour for 2012, and his fifth place finish was good for $32,000.

Powered by three top ten finishes, Kevin has made $67,984 in a mere four events to place 44th on the money list. With 12 events remaining on the tour schedule Foley sits just $38,040 out of 25th place on the money list. Peter Tomasulo currently ranks 25th and has earned $106 024.

If Foley can jump into the top 25, he will earn PGA Tour status for the 2013 season, and if he can move into the top 40, he will earn an exemption into the final stage of the 2012 PGA Tour qualifying tournament.

Foley was a three-time All-American at Penn State from 2008-2010. He holds the Penn State record for most tournament championships, with six. In his time at Penn State, he earned 16 top 10 finishes and 20 top 25 finishes.
