No. 48 Women's Tennis Travels to Kentucky

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Nittany Lions (3-0, 0-0) will travel to Lexington, Kentucky tomorrow for a Sunday showdown with the Wildcats at 10 a.m. This is the first time these two teams will have met each other on the courts.

Penn State is off to a great start on the season, winning their first three matches, something they haven't done in over 7 years. The Lions look to build their unbeaten streak to four games against the SEC foe Wildcats.

Penn State and Kentucky showcase two of the top conferences in women's tennis this season. The Big Ten has 10 teams, including Penn State, ranked in the ITA team poll and the SEC has 12 of their 14 teams ranked in the poll.

Penn State will face their first two nationally ranked singles players of the season when they face Kentucky's No. 78 Nadia Ravita and No. 117 Caitlin McGraw. Both Wildcats are undefeated in singles competition through three matches this season.

Both teams are unbeaten through three games this season, with the closest margin of victory for both sides being three in 5-2 victories. Last time out the Nittany Lions defeated Temple 6-1, with No. 27 Petra Januskova and Chelsea Utting dominating in doubles and singles. The freshmen group of Devan McCluskey, Jacqueline Zuhse and Katherine Whiteaway were also victorious in their matches last weekend.

Following this clash with Kentucky, the Nittany Lions will return home to face Old Dominion at Sarni Indoor Tennis Center on February 10 at 11 a.m.
