UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Three members of the Penn State women's golf team have been selected to the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list, as announced by the conference this afternoon. Senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) and juniors Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) and Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Que) are three of 36 players from around the league to earn a spot on preseason list.
Vosters is entering her final season as a Nittany Lion and is coming off of an excellent 2012-13 season, having competed in 27 rounds. Vosters led the team in average score with a 74.8 and recorded five top ten finishes with her best finish coming at the Nittany Lion Invitational, where she tied for second place. Vosters also earned Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week honors for her performance in the Cougar Classic.
Ceresko enters her junior year with confidence after winning her second straight PA State Amateur Golf Championship Title over the summer. Ceresko will look to build off of her success last season, where she notched three top-ten finishes, while also capturing the Nittany Lion Invitational title and earning Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week honors for that performance.
Archambault tied for the team lead in rounds played with 30 last season. Archambault had two top ten finishes and will look to continue her strong performance into the 2013-14 season.
The Nittany Lions open the 2013-14 season on the road this year, traveling to Charleston, South Carolina to compete in the Cougar Classic. The tournament begins Monday, Sept. 8 and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 11.
