UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's hockey team's Big Ten-opening series against the Wisconsin Badgers will broadcast live on FOX Sports Wisconsin, it was announced Monday. Opening faceoff Friday, Dec. 6 is set for 8 p.m. ET, while Saturday's puck drop is at 9 p.m. ET. Paul Braun and Rob Andringa will have the call both nights.
The Nittany Lions and Wisconsin split their two-game series in 2012-13, with Penn State ending its inaugural NCAA campaign with a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory against the then-No. 16 Badgers at the Kohl Center Feb. 25, 2013. After erasing a two-goal deficit, forward Taylor Holstrom (Yorba Linda, Calif.) catapulted the Nittany Lions to victory with the game-winning tally in the frame's final minute.
With the addition of the Wisconsin series, the Nittany Lions will appear on TV at least 16 times during the 2013-14 season. Penn State opened the 2013-14 campaign with a nationally-televised 4-1 victory against Army on the BTN and will return to the network Monday, Jan. 13 when it hosts top-ranked Minnesota during its first conference home series.
FOX Sports Wisconsin can be found on DirecTV (channel 669) and Dish Network (channel varies).
